Hyde Park Shoot in Oversized Suit
Back in January, when things were less crazy and everyone was hyped about 2020, I met Alfie for a shoot in Hyde Park.
A designer by day and photographer by night (well, sort of), he had the vision of me wearing an oversized suit. ‘‘From my grandfather’’, he told me.
I am always very open to wearing anything that is ‘‘too much’’: too big, too stripy, too extravagant. Clothes are a means of experimentation and I love to see how I can help photographers and stylists alike bring their vision to life.
We decided to go to Hyde Park because of these sort of secluded spaces you can find there. Carefully frame your shot and the end result won’t look like London at all!
It was a great choice for shooting on film. More specifically, he shot on Kodak Portra. Unlike digital, film can make the the highlights and shadows more balanced. On a sunny winter day, it was just the thing we needed.
I loved the photos he sent me just a couple of days later: the bright blue sky and plants in juxtaposition with the boxy suit.
